WhatsApp won't connect — what should I check?

WhatsApp is managed by Loop, not connected by you. Here's what "Disconnected" means in Settings and what to do if turning it back on fails.

WhatsApp doesn't use a personal connect flow — Loop runs it for you on a shared number, so there's nothing to log into. If the WhatsApp row in SettingsChannels shows "Disconnected," click Turn on. If that fails, it's usually temporary; retry, then reach out if it keeps happening.

Why is there no "Connect" button for WhatsApp?

Unlike Email or Instagram, WhatsApp doesn't have a per-creator account to link. Loop operates it on your behalf, so the row in SettingsChannels normally reads "Managed by Loop — used automatically in your loops." There's no OAuth screen or number to enter — it's on by default.

What does "Disconnected" mean?

If you (or someone on your team) previously clicked Disconnect on the WhatsApp row, it switches to "Disconnected — Loop won't use this channel in your loops." While it's in this state, Loop excludes WhatsApp from every loop's outbound sends, including loops already running.

How do I turn WhatsApp back on?

  1. Go to SettingsChannels.
  2. Find the WhatsApp row.
  3. Click Turn on.

The button shows "Turning on…" while the request is in flight, then the row should flip back to "Managed by Loop." If it doesn't, or you see a "Couldn't reconnect the channel" message, try again — this is often a brief hiccup rather than something wrong with your account.

Why isn't Loop sending on WhatsApp even though the row looks fine?

The Channels tab reflects your setting, not moment-to-moment delivery. If WhatsApp shows as managed but messages still aren't going out, the underlying send path may be temporarily unavailable on our side rather than anything you can fix from Settings.

Still stuck?

If Turn on keeps failing, or WhatsApp looks connected but nothing sends, email us at dharsan@topmate.io with your account email and roughly when you first noticed the issue — that's enough for us to look at your loop's WhatsApp status.
