# The Loop wizard is stuck on an old draft — how do I reset?

Why the Loop wizard sometimes reopens a previous draft, and how to start a clean one instead.

The wizard remembers your last unfinished Loop so you can pick up where you left off. If you want a clean start instead, don't reopen a step link — go to **Loops** and select **New loop**. That clears the saved draft before you continue.

## Why does the wizard show my old answers?

The wizard saves your progress — goal, people, channels — as you go, so closing the tab or getting interrupted doesn't cost you the work. When you come back through a link that drops you straight onto a step (for example a bookmarked or shared step URL), the wizard resumes that saved draft rather than starting over.

This is intentional for the common case: you left mid-setup and want to finish the same Loop. It only feels wrong when you actually wanted a fresh one.

## How do I start a completely new Loop?

1. Go to **Loops**.
2. Select **New loop**.

Starting from this entry point clears the previous draft, so when you continue into setup you begin with an empty goal, no people selected, and no channels chosen.

If you instead navigate directly to a step in your browser (rather than through **New loop**), the wizard will resume whatever draft was last saved.

## The draft still looks stale after starting a new Loop

Make sure you're starting through **Loops** → **New loop** rather than reusing an old tab or a bookmarked step URL — those resume the draft by design. If a new Loop still opens with unexpected people or channels pre-selected after using **New loop**, refresh the page and try again before reaching out.

If the issue persists, contact us at [dharsan@topmate.io](mailto:dharsan@topmate.io) with what you selected and what showed up instead so we can take a look.
