# Create your first Loop

A step-by-step walkthrough of building your first Loop — from goal to launch — so Loop can start real conversations with your people.

To create your first Loop, click **New loop**, name it and describe your goal, add what you're promoting, choose your people, pick your channels, and launch. Loop drafts your emails automatically as you go — you can read them, adjust anything, then hit **Launch** to have Loop start reaching out.

## How do I start a new Loop?

Every "New loop" button in Loop — in the top bar, the command palette, or the **Loops** page — takes you to the same place. If you land on a picker screen first, either pick a suggested loop or choose to start from scratch, and you'll be dropped straight into the wizard.

The wizard has four steps: **Goal**, **People**, **Channels**, and **Review**. A progress indicator at the top always shows where you are.

## Step 1: What do I set on the Goal step?

This is where you tell Loop what you want:

1. **Name this loop** — a private label only you see; people you reach out to never see it. For example, "March workshop."
2. **Your goal** — describe the outcome in your own words, like "Fill 12 seats for my next cohort by the end of March." Loop uses this to shape the emails it drafts.
3. **What you're promoting** — click **Add product** to attach the offer people should book or buy. You can:
   - Add a **Custom item**: paste a description (and optionally a URL), and Loop extracts a title, price, and other details for you to review and edit.
   - Pull **From Topmate**, if your Topmate account is connected — this shows your existing services to choose from.

You can add more than one product if you're promoting multiple things. **Continue** unlocks once you've named the loop, written a real goal, and picked at least one product.

## Step 2: How do I add the people this Loop reaches?

On the **People** step, add or edit the audience — the list of people Loop will reach out to. Once a list is selected, you'll see a live table of everyone in it, and you can remove individual people from the table if a list includes someone you don't want contacted.

If you're a first-time creator, this step may also prompt you to claim your Loop inbox handle — the address Loop sends from.

## Step 3: How do I choose channels for my Loop?

The **Channels** step is where you decide how Loop reaches people:

- **Hyper-personalize** — Loop writes every email (and call or message, if enabled) custom to each person, based on their profile, your goal, and your voice.
- **Email funnel** — one polished sequence, the same for everyone, that you can edit line by line. Email only.

Voice and WhatsApp are only available in Hyper-personalize mode, since those touches are written per person. If Voice or WhatsApp aren't connected yet, you'll see that in the toggle and can connect them from [Settings](/settings). Whichever mode you pick, the moment someone replies, Loop answers them personally.

This step also shows your **estimated cost** in credits before you commit to anything, so you know what launching will use.

## Step 4: What happens on the Review step?

Review shows exactly what Loop is about to do — the drafted email sequence on one side, your setup summary on the other. Read through the sequence, make any edits, then click **Launch**.

Launching starts the loop immediately: Loop begins reaching out on the channels you picked, and replies start flowing into your [Conversations](/conversations) inbox as people respond.

## Where do I see my Loop after launching?

After launch, you're taken straight to the loop's own page, where you can track progress. From there:

- Check the [Dashboard](/dashboard) for an overview across all your loops.
- Open [Conversations](/conversations) to see and reply to what's coming in.
- Visit [People](/people) to see who's been reached and how they're responding.
- Manage running loops any time from [Loops](/loops).

## Can I come back and edit a Loop later?

Yes. Open the loop from the **Loops** list and use its **Edit** controls to adjust the goal, audience, or channels — changes to channels save automatically, and editing the goal re-drafts the email sequence for your review before anything changes for real.
